We've been admonished by our Stake President to plant a garden. With a little pushing and shoving and a lot of tutelage from Jason, we finally set out to do it. This method is called square foot gardening (I think) and I am a huge fan! We had fun planting and playing in the soil and we even have little sprouts starting to come up. I'm so excited to see if we actually get anything to grow! Regardless, I feel a little bit more righteous for following counsel and a little bit safer for having some food.
Grammy sent us some really fun self-decorating pots and seeds for the little boys for Easter. They had so much fun putting them together--thanks Grammy! We'll let you know when we see some green!

Your square foot garden looks beautiful!!! We learned how to do this in the MTC (as a welfare missionary) - so we could teach it to the good people of ecuador. We did try a few times, and I was way excited to come home and try it. We have done it since we moved here. My ward's garden group is going crazy about it and they are all going to do it this year too.
Suerte!
I love the garden idea, would you mind telling me how to do it???
I love that garden! When we move I'm going to call you and ask how to build the box!
Luke's face in the bottom is priceless. Such a lukey face. We are so righteous!
Your boxes look so good, I'm serious when I say you should build them and sell them!! We built some boxes too but ours look ghetto compared to yours. I'm a big fan of the sqare foot gardening. Tons less work when it comes time to weeding.
Good for you! You are so righteous! I totally have a yard and I am still not planting a garden. :(
I LOVED your list of lessons from the Boston trip.
#1- I can NOT tell a difference in your two pictures. I have always thought that you were one of those people that had so much natural beauty that makeup didn't even really matter. I am being totally genuine.
#2- Do you really walk around in your G's in front of your siblings?! Weird.
#3- Did people seriously curse directly at you about the stroller?! What did they say??!?!?
Nice box, great job, even sprouts coming up! When did you sow? I just sowed yesterday and am looking forward to seeing something grow. I have watered this everyday so far (since yesterday, so i hope to do better than the seeds I planted last week that haven't seen any water yet. They probably won't come up any time soon! Good job. loved the review of Boston. love, Dagmar
I think I am going to try the box/square garden too- I'm just a little worried that the neighborhood landscapers will do something it it. That is a funny post about Boston. It sounds like a fun trip! I would love to go to Boston sometime.
Emily, you are so funny. I have also blog stalked you in the past. Your family is beautiful. I love that all your boys are so close together...I am sure is it a double edge sword.
Come and visit our blog anytime. :0) We like visitors.
Love the garden...Want to do it. But the real question is WHERE are you? I always look to your blog for cute fun ideas. It's been a while now.
