Memorial Day Memories

Jake decided to grace us with his presence once again (after a 2 week fatherhood haitus) and I was so happy to have any help I could get with our two little monkeys. We started the fun weekend out with a short visit from Jordan and Amanda and their little Jonah. Though appearances are deceiving, Jonah is actually older than Luke, he simply has a better metabolism. We then went with the family to our first Braves game of the season! According to me, we had prime seats since we were in the shade! According to Jake, he probably would have liked to have been a little closer. We had so much fun cheering on the game and playing with cousins...oh, and eating Cheetos...Cooper's all-time favorite snack!
We decided to set up the tent Sunday night and Jake and I were going to rough it in the backyard! However, I can't even handle sleeping in the backyard!! I gave it a good hour and a half and then dashed back into the house for a 1 AM potty break. Needless to say, after trying desperately to fall asleep for 90 minutes caused me to me head straight to my nice, bug-free, air-conditioned bed. Jake roughed it all by his lonesome. What's funny is that he's been gone for 2 weeks and we still don't share the same bed when we're together. How sad is that?
We had fun with Jake while it lasted, but now he's back in Tennessee for another week and I am heading to Colorado with Coop and Luke for a week. One day...one beautiful day...we'll all be together again!

Our First Major Boo-Boo

So, so sad and so, so disgusting! I had just left the kitchen to go grab my phone and I hear my mom screaming my name in bloody murder. I was sure that Cooper had died. I sprinted to the kitchen to find blood all over my mom's hands, shirt, and Cooper. He had performed the following act, in the following order:

#1:

#2:

#3:

The nastiest part was being able to see his skull through the cut. One thing that I can't handle is blood, especially my baby's blood. My mom later told me that I was having a harder time than Cooper was. For that reason, Jake was the designated holder for removing the stitches--only look what Cooper decided to do!!!

I would definitely say that Jake got the easy road out on the catastrophe!!

Memory Lane

One of my favorite pictures in my childhood scrapbook is of my Dad appearing as though he is Superman himself. He is suspended in the air with one arm shooting straight up and a huge goofy grin on his face. I later learned that he was jumping on the trampoline. Then I remember seeing many home videos of all of the monkeys in our family jumping on the trampoline. When I saw Poppy out there jumping with all of the grandkids I had to capture the moment on film. Love it!

A BIG FAT GIRL'S NIGHT OUT!!

We were naughty, so naughty and it felt so good! Lindsey Williams came into town and when Lindsey comes there is always a party to be had!!!!! We had some fun Italiano and "ice water" and then headed to an almost entirely empty restaurant to Karaoke. It was all too easy to let loose when there's no one there watching. We did some moves we probably shouldn't have and Lindsey almost certainly could have gotten a lesbian experience with our DJ, but we had so much fun! I forgot how much fun being with just girls, and crazy girls at that, can be. Thanks for the FUN!!!

Somebody's (Jake) Busted!!

So I thought I was leaving my children in good hands when I left them with their Dad. However, when I plugged the camera in to download new pics I discovered a totally different story! Looks like Cooper got himself into a mess while Jake was probably watching the Jazz lose to the Lakers. Dad--you should have known better!

Some Cute Candids of our 2 little monkeys!!

Happy Mommy's Day To Me

I HAD THE BEST MOMMY'S DAY EVER!! My hot, sexy man cooked a dinner to die for (for 15 people, nonetheless) and I didn't even have to do the dishes!!!!! We played, open presents and cards and gorged ourselves on Harry and David cheesecakes...especially since the official diet was starting the next day! Thanks for all of the men/boys in my life who make my days so special. I love you!

Cooper thought he was helping, but I'm not sure that Jake agreed with that assessment. But who can turn down a grin like that?Dagmar's mom, Lina, was such a help with taking care of Lukesters.Feeding the fish is ALWAYS a favorite for all of the grandchildren. It's just plain better if you don't ask.Just "hanging out"!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you out there!!

It's My Daddy and I'll Cry if I Want To!!

Another tribute to Jake. He's gone...again! I was just looking at my pics and realized I never blogged about our playground fun. Jake is in the spotlight on this one since I was "lounging" with Luke. We really, really, really miss you Honey!!

Don't look too close at Lincoln's crotch there-definitely not child appropriate how he is strattling that bar!

Husband and Wife Tag

So, Claire Tagged me so here goes:

Husband and Wife Tag
What is his name? Jake
How long have you been married ? 5 yrs in Aug
How old is he? 28
Who eats more? You know, I don't know. At meals, he eats more, throughout the day I eat more. What else are mom's suppossed to do??
Who said I love you first? I admit I sort of wanted to manipulate that situation. I knew I loved him but I wanted him to say it first so I told him I was falling in love with him and then he said that he loved me. I don't know how to call that one.
Who is taller? Jake
Who sings better? Jake is a closet karaokier--actually pretty darn good. I would have to say I have a bit more skill than him, however.
Who is smarter? You know, I think Jake is great, but I do think I'm smarter. He has an amazing ability to retain information that I was definitely not blessed with.
Whose temper is worse? I'm definitely more of the brat but I don't think I have a temper. Jake has ZERO temper. Sometimes I wish he would get mad at me so I would feel justified in being a brat. Never happens. Danget!!
Who does the laundry? I do...he did just switch the loads, however. He'll help me fold when i'm down to 2 or 3 shirts left. He's very good at always helping out right at the end:).
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? That was one of those weird, I never would have thought of that moments, on our first night together. I didn't care so I picked the right side, the side my mom sleeps on. I think all of my sisters sleep on the right now-funny, huh?
Who cooks dinner? Me!! He does the dishes though. Actually, now we split dinners with Claire so I do the dishes more often now.
Who drives when you are together? Jake, it's one of those male chivalry things that I love about him.
Who is more stubborn? Not even a question. Me. Me. Me. I am so stinkin' stubborn I make myself mad.
Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? Jake. Once again, not even a question. The woman is always right, right?
Whose parents do you see the most? Jewkesies. Living with them makes it darn near impossible not to see them more.
Who has more friends? I have more friends but Jake is definitely the better friend. I'm not very good at working on friendships so if they happen, that's great, if not, I'm not one to go chasing after it. That might explain my inability to answer my phone. I'm sorry!
Who has the most siblings? If you take Jake's family and multiply it by 2.5 then you get mine. For those of you not gifted in the math area, that means I have a larger family. Wasn't much hope for Jake in that category.
Who wears the pants in the family? By outward appearances, I do, but we really do make most decisions together. I'd say we each have one leg in those parachute pants!

I tag Shalie and Jamie if she ever gets her darn blog up!!

Lots of Logan Fun

Okay, maybe it's just me or maybe it's summer or maybe it's the fact that I just started working a little...I don't know, I feel like I don't have time for anything all of the sudden! We went on a fabulous trip to see Jake's family in Logan and I haven't even blogged about it yet. I feel like I should confess to the bishop or something. So, here is a fun synopsis of our Logan Fun:

It was so exciting to see Ex-Elder Ryan Hutchings for the first time in over 2 years. I must say that he didn't change much. However, he was one of those guys that was pretty special from the get-go so he really didn't need to change. The biggest change is that he's already held a girl's hand, which only happened maybe once in his first 19 years (sorry, Ryan, don't kill me for that one). He came home bearing gifts of yummy Swiss chocolate and cow bells which made us love him even more.

Our first couple of days there were spent talking, eating, playing games, eating, watching, movies, eating, and did I mention eating? I gained some serious poundage there. It was fun to see friends and family again at Ryan's awesome homecoming. Then came the fun part: Monday!! We woke up to Cooper throwing up twice. Then all was peaceful and we got all decked out for our once-every-five-years-family-pictures. Yeah, you guessed it, on the way to the photo shoot Cooper ralphed all over the car. AAHHH!! Then immediately after the pictures were taken he threw up 2 more times. What?? The next days were filled with changing his diaper about every 15 minutes due to landfill-stenched diarrhea. I'm sure something fun and momentous happened those last few days, but all I remember is constantly changing diapers. The plane ride home, while I was filled with some serious angst, actually turned out okay. Cooper only pooped 4 times-a vast improvement! However, on the way home from the airport, I hear a sound that scared me from head to toe. A loud, diarrhea squirt/toot from who else but Luke?? AAHH!! Thankfully, he proved to have a much milder case of Cooper's virus.

We really did have tons of fun and am so grateful for the generosity and love of family. I feel so lucky to have such great, great in-laws. Love you guys!!

Our peaceful airplane ride, until the brand new battery ran out about an hour into "Cars".

Coop hanging out with his cousins-notice Kade's purple, fluffy, beautiful jacket...
Uncle Ryan met Cooper and Luke for the first time. My little Rocker!!!
Crotch Shot!! Grant pretty much reminds me of Bret Michaels. Cooper with cousin Chase. The infamous family picture day. Doesn't that little boy just look sick?Hanging out with Aunt Shalie. This is what I felt like doing for the next week. I was so, so tired by the end of the trip.

Happy 4 Month Birthday!

In honor of Luke turning 4 months old, we gave him his first "solid" feeding. It really didn't go so well. He didn't care for it much but hopefully we'll make some rapid progress sooner rather than later. Enjoy some media of his First Feeding:
