Just Kidding!

So, surprisingly, it turns out we were wrong.  When I went into the Perinatalist this afternoon they immediately saw that there were not twins in my tummy, but TRIPLETS!  OH.MY.GOSH!  We are very shocked right now!  We have ZERO idea how we missed an actual baby in the third sack during 2 different ultrasounds, but we did!  All three babies are in separate sacs with separate placentas which is good news!  There is obviously a much higher rate of losing one of them and also of chromosomal deficiencies.  I will be highly regulated during the pregnancy so we will get a lot of answers as we go.  I go back in 2 weeks to measure the spinal fluid in all 3 babies which will tell a lot and for some basic genetic counseling.  Eek!  I feel like I am in a foreign world!  So, keep us in your prayers as we will be needing it!

Once I got done laughing (after reading your previous posts about your fear of triplets), I continued to read through all the posts about your whole IVF ordeal and then I just weeped. I am so, so happy for you, Jake and the boys. What a wonderful miracle! I know many of us ask for miracles and don't get them, which only makes us more grateful for the ones we do get. It is truly all in the Lord's hands. Thank you for sharing your journey, your faith and your humility. Love you lots, Em. :)

When I read your earlier posts I thought to myself- "I bet it turns out that they have triplets!" WOW!!! This just reminds me of what happened with your miracle baby Cooper - they said nothing would grow, but he did - you just have babies that like to surprise you!!! I think, actually, that the Lord gives to willing & desirouis hearts and you have been so willing, through your trials, to do whatever it takes!!!! I like what one commenter said - you've kind of done this before! - but never six at a time!! You'll be such a young Grandma someday!! :) I wish we lived close so I could take your older three every day while you rest! We are thrilled for you & will pray that all goes well! You both are amazing!

Holy Cow Emily! That is crazy...fun maybe??? I hope it all works out. I guess you and Jake were probably prepared by having your first three kind of close so you probably have more patience than the rest of us :) I wish I lived closer to help you out too. I hope everything goes ok during this pregnancy and that your family will be able to prepare accordingly. Thanks for keeping everyone posted. Such fun to read such exciting news!
