Hazards of Living in the South

First off, my kids are drinkers.  Big time.  You put a cup in front of them or a treat, and they'll pick the cup first.

So...I watch Claire's kids on Friday's.  Lincoln had a Thanksgiving program on this particular Friday so I packed up my 3 kids to go listen to them sing and then eat lunch.  Well, the singing was less than fabulous but that COLD fried chicken lunch looked A-MAZ-ING!  Let me tell ya!

So...I turn around to check on the kids while I dish their collard greens---and WHAT THE CRAP??  All 3 of my kids are downing--and I mean chugging--some sweet tea!  Who gives kids sweet tea?  Especially without asking the parents?  That would be like giving little kids a can of Coke without asking.  At least, it would be like that to me.

I quickly ran over (losing my place in line, mind you) and rescued their tender souls from further breakage of the Word of Wisdom.  I repented for them later that day.:)

SWEE TEA=THE SOUTH like DIET COKE=MORMONS

Anyhow--I came home and told Claire the story and she was aghast!  She had no idea they served sweet tea there and quickly realized that her kids had probably been drinking it for 2 years now.  She's got some major repenting to do for them! :)

LOL....but my kids are NOT drinkers. You know that. They prefer water any day.

That is great! What is funny is that I can totally see this happening to you and Claire ...only you two! Your kids will miss that sweet tea when you leave GA.

I miss you Emily!!!
Did you know... that my sister Laura... lives in our same apt... yes... VP #4... in our same bedroom... at this very time in her life?!!! CRAZY!!!! It's a good sign. She loves it there like we did. Those were fun times and you are one fun mom. I love checking your blog once in a while (not the love once in a while, the checking once in a while... the love is all the time) and I love that you have not lost your amazing sense of humor... sorry you had to go on that crazy cruise but I'm sure you'll forever have fun memories of that... if you want another break I am SO serious when I say come on out here and you and Jake can stay in some fancy shmancy Phoenix resort while we watch your kids... or go on a cruise from here (you won't go far due to the lack of water, but we're 5 hours from San Diego... you could go anywhere really...and we'd love to watch your kids for you.) Merry Christmas! We may get cards out this year... we're workin' on it!
Love you guys.

To be fair, there's no correlation between sugar and hyperactivity. It's just an urban myth perpetrated by American parents that most of the world's population is largely unaware of.
