October List

Jake has this cousin who is super clever and hilarious! Anyhow, she makes these lists of things she wants to do/accomplish every month. I thought I'd try out a list for myself and see if I can make October a little more exciting! I'll try and post things when I accomplish them.

1. Decorate house for Halloween. Make some new decorations.
2. Flirt with Jake every day.
3. Buy a new shirt that is out of my comfort zone.
4. Get a pair of brown boots--finally!
5. Get my hands on P90X.
6. Let the kids play in the rain. Heck, go out and play with them.
7. Dress up for Halloween. Be a kid--live again!
8. See "Thriller".
9. Finish Positive Discipline ( a book that I can't seem to finish).
10. Get into a size 8 ???

Anyhow, I have finished #1 at least--

Yeah, I made those. Cool, huh? It's just random jars. I painted them with mod podge and then took tissue paper and wrapped them. Then I cut out faces and glued them on. There are christmas lights in there. I love them!

Yeah, Another Month

I've written this post in my head so many times that I don't even know what really happened. Every time I sit down to actually post something interferes. Blissfully, Jake took Cooper and Luke to Bass Pro Shops and I have a few hours of peace. I'm so excited!

First of all,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO POOKER!

Our big boy finally turned 3!! I feel like I've been a mom so much longer than 3 years. Dagmar (my SIL) said, it just seems wrong that your oldest is only turning 3 when you have 3 kids, no twins. I couldn't agree more.

The day was all about space ships! Check out this cool cake:
We had a great day! Thanks to all who came and pizzaed and partied with us! You guys rock!

Okay, here are some of our Crafties for the last couple of weeks.

V is for Volcano!
We did some homemade volcanoes and watched videos on the computer. It was really fun!

Book project based on "Leaf Man" by Lois Elhert. This is a really neat book. Very creative and Cooper loved it! The book is a story where the pictures are leaves made into animal shapes. It was so clever! We went out and collected leaves and made a leaf man, a turtle, and a butterfly.

Another really cool book project. We read "Arnie the Doughnut" about this doughnut that is actually alive and doesn't want to be eaten. Kind of cheesy but cute, I guess. Here's the good part--homemade donuts! We made these out of buttermilk biscuits. They were so, so easy and fun. If you want the recipe go here.

Even Ethan loved the donuts! I loved them a little too much and finally ended up throwing them out to get rid of the temptation!

U is for Umbrella! Which is totally appropriate for all of the rain we've been getting.
